We are three friends who love chatting about what we are reading and watching. One day we decided to complicate our lives by recording those conversations. Now here we are. Chapter One Scene One. A podcast where women in the middle of their lives talk about books, movies, TV shows, their dogs, and whatever else slips into the conversation because we cannot help ourselves.

Katya seems normal at first. Then you spot her walking her dogs while talking to herself like she is rehearsing a one woman show. She works hard. She parents harder. She also tries to keep her daughter from posting videos of her on Tiktok. She fails. We enjoy the results every time.
Michelle. Patio Sitter. Resident Genealogy Detective. Chaos Coordinator.
Michelle is the one who appears the most stable. This is not saying much. She thrives on sunny patios hanging out with her dogs. In her free time she investigates strangers’ ancestors with the intensity of a detective who has cracked a secret case. When she is not doing that, she watches movies and sends us memes until our phones beg for mercy. But really she expends her energy coordinating the chaos.

Laura spends her days in a cubicle and her nights buried behind towers of books. Her family is unsure if she still exists behind the stacks. No one is brave enough to check. She promises she does other things. We remain unconvinced.

Each week we dive into a new title. Week One belongs to the book. A mini book club among friends filled with spoilers, character deep dives, plot chaos, and strong opinions.
Week Two belongs to the movie or TV adaptation. Again with spoilers. Again with strong opinions. Again with debates about what changed, what worked, what did not, and who was hot or absolutely not.
Some weeks we wander into other topics. Reading challenges. Shelf decluttering. Subscription services we swear we do not need but keep paying for. Whatever the topic, expect laughter, arguments, and at least one tangent about our dogs.
We talk about stories because they shape how we see the world. We talk to each other because life is better with friends who obsess over fictional characters. Now we talk to you too. So welcome. Settle in. Laugh with us. Judge fictional people with confidence. Let your dog listen along.
